Activities at Rotorua Museum

As the national independent organisation representing the profession of museum education in Aotearoa New Zealand, MEANZ supports its members by: 

Professional Development

MEANZ contributes to the professional development of educators by organising annual training events, national conferences and regional workshops. Members are entitled to discounted registration at all events. To attend the next event register here.

Regional Events

MEANZ is a national association made up of regional groups of educators, who meet regularly for informal networking meetings. To join in, contact your local group.

Advocacy

MEANZ is an advocate for its members and the museum education sector as a whole, working with Museums Aotearoa, National Services Te Paerangi, the Ministry of Education and the Teachers Council amongst others to support museum educators. If you have an issue you feel you would like support with contact an executive council member.

Sector News

MEANZ works with its members to communicate sector news through regional group meetings, this website and forum, a regular e-news letter, Facebook, and Twitter.

Resources

MEANZ facilitates the sharing of resources via this website and forum, regional group events, and national conferences and workshops.

Research

MEANZ aims to contribute to and support research into museum education by working in partnership with other organisations.
